Istria Celebrates World Tourism Day with Unique Experiences

The last weekend of September is the perfect opportunity to discover Istria from a different perspective. To mark World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on September 27, a variety of programmes and activities for all generations will take place across Istria County.

This year's theme, "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence for Redesigning Tourism", highlights new technologies and their role in shaping the future of travel. At the same time, the event remains true to what makes tourism special: discovering local stories, culture, nature and people.

During the two-day celebration, on 26 and 27 September, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in numerous events that traditionally include cultural programmes, guided tours, outdoor activities, gastronomic experiences and family-friendly activities.

The popularity of the event is reflected in last year's edition, which featured as many as 80 different programmes throughout Istria. From museums and historical sites to hiking trails, tastings and interpretive tours, visitors were able to experience Istria from the perspective of the local community.

If you are planning to visit Istria at the end of September, World Tourism Day is an excellent opportunity to discover new places, learn about Istrian traditions and experience the authentic atmosphere of the destination.
