Days of Antiquity in Pula

Days of Antiquity in Pula unfold across three consecutive weekends, transforming the city into a vibrant stage of the Roman Empire. Parades, performances and a traditional crafts fair bring its rich history vividly to life.

Every Friday at 6:00 PM, a ceremonial parade starts at the Arena and moves through Kandler Street to the Forum and Portarata. At the Forum, the programme “Where the Past Becomes an Experience” invites visitors to meet Romans, legionnaires and gladiators, surrounded by music, dance and the atmosphere of ancient times. A highlight is the reenactment of a traditional Roman wedding.

At Portarata, a Roman village showcases ancient crafts, a gladiator and legionnaire camp and interactive activities, including gladiator training. On Saturdays from 10:00 AM, the Forum becomes a lively family zone with workshops, games, tastings and stories, while evening events recreate the spirit of a Roman celebration.

Inside the iconic Arena, a spectacular gladiator fight offers a powerful glimpse into life in antiquity. This event combines heritage, entertainment and hands-on experiences, making Pula a must-visit destination.
