Chestnut Festivity

Roasted, cooked, in savory and sweet dishes, in cakes and even ice cream, chestnuts are the favorite autumn fruit of many and it is precisely to them that an event in Oprtalj is dedicated - the Chestnut Festival, the first and only event of its kind in Istria.

The event takes place in several places around Oprtalj that are connected with the theme of chestnuts and the richness of other autumn fruits. Roasted chestnuts, mushroom and venison soup and many chestnut dishes and desserts are prepared for all gourmets; shows, creative workshops and animators entertain the little ones; live music follows all the fans of cheerful rhythms and educational exhibitions are dedicated to the curious visitors.

In October, come to Oprtalj to get some fresh air and spend a pleasant autumn day with a serving of roasted chestnuts and a glass of young wine.
